Dear Freelancer Mag Fan

I think it’s time to hit the road again and take my van Ernie on a Freelancer Magazine Cowork/Nowork Roadshow. Our four-times-a-week virtual coworking is amazing and you really must try it if you haven’t yet, but there’s nothing quite like an IRL meet up is there?

💛 How do you think your freelance business 'does good' or what are your intentions for this? How do you interpret 'doing good' in business? 💛

/SJDonaldson
I help people feel more confident… whether that’s by editing their writing, writing for them or assessing how they’re doing. But I do it all from a place of empathy – I always treat people how I’d like to be treated, so hopefully, they do the same for others.
/HelenHill
I think a lot of what is classed as ‘doing good’ are things that are our shared responsibility to do anyway. For me, it’s summed up by a simple question – how can you leave this world a little bit better than how you found it?
/DianaSilvaFranco
I believe in the power of words and authenticity, and through my work, I support entrepreneurs, organisations and institutions in the process of finding their own voice and letting it out!
/LisaJuneHarrison
I do good in business by behaving in a way that gives freelancers a good name. There are some tricky characters operating under the term 'freelancer'. If all of the good eggs unite, we'll overshadow any rotten ones.
/YvetteBeattie
Freelancing gives me a bit of time to help out in my local community, such as being able to volunteer at my daughter’s school when they need help with various activities or walking my neighbour’s dog when she’s not able to do it.

Dear Freelancer Mag Fan,

I think it’s time to hit the road again and take my van Ernie on a Freelancer Magazine Cowork/Nowork Roadshow. Our four-times-a-week virtual coworking is amazing and you really must try it if you haven’t yet, but there’s nothing quite like an IRL meet up is there? Especially in the summer. (Although they do tend to be somewhat less productive… no, I mean, it’s networking, yes, it’s valuable networking time.) Check out pages 94 and 95 for more details on joining us for these very relaxed coworking sessions with freelance friends.

I’d love to start regular Freelancer Magazine IRL coworking sessions around the UK and globally to connect readers. If you’d be up for hosting one monthly or bimonthly in your home town, then slide into my DMs.

Bringing people together feels good. That neatly leads me to the theme of this edition, which is all about freelancing we love and the self-employed folk doing it well – whether that be filling it with fun, working with purpose-led brands, or setting some of their time aside to give something back.

Make sure you grow your brilliant freelance business network by connecting with the other freelance folk that you find in Freelancer Magazine. We’d love to see a pic of your copy on the socials with a 👋 to our dream team who make this super magazine and our other lovely readers.

💛 & 🌮

Sophie
